KARACHI: Sindh Madressatul Islam University on Tuesday announced results of the pre entry test conducted by the university for new admissions (Spring 2015) in its five departments i.e. Business Administration, Computer Science, Media Studies, Education and Environmental Sciences, on last Sunday. The result is available on SMIU’s website:www.smiu.edu.pk.
SMI University has further announced that the interviews of successful candidates will be held from 31st December, 2014 to 2nd January, 2015, while the final list will be displayed on January 5, 2015. The successful candidates will submit fee up to 13th January. It has also been said that the Orientation Day will be held on 17th January, and classes of the new batch will start from 19th January.
PUBLIC COMPLAINTS BE RESOLVED AS PER RULES – CHIEF SECRETARY

KARACHI: Chief Secretary Sindh Sajjad Saleem Hotiana has asked Administrative Secretaries, Commissioners & Deputy Commissioners to ensure early action on the public complaints, to ameliorate the people from difficulties, in accordance with the rules and regulations and government policy. He issued these instructions while receiving the application from people on Tuesday at his office.
He farwarded many cases pertained to the seniority and promotion cases to the concerned Heads of the Department, including Secretary Services. Few cases against encroachment, were referred to relevant officers, commissioners of Hyderabad and Sukkur and others.
Meantime, Sajjad Saleem Hotiana has advised the Culture & Antiquities Departments to submit report on their projects within 03 days.
RUBINA QAIMKHANI ASKS STAKE HOLDERS TO MAKE ACTION PLAN FOR CHILD MARRIAGES RESTRAINT ACT IMPLEMENTATION

KARACHI: Provincial Minister for Women Development Ms. Rubina Qaimkhani chaired a consultative follow up meeting with members of Civil Society Organization and other relevant departments in order to form action plan for the implementation of Law of “Child Marriages Restraint Act 2013” Qaimkhani personally heard from stakeholders all the aspects of bill implementation and taken into confidence all of them, especially the AACM (Alliance against child Marriages) members, Health and Nutritions Society, Aurat Foundation and Strengthening Participatory Organization. This meeting is the follow up of the Policy dialogue meeting which held last week for drafting rules of business of Child Marriages Restraint Act.
It has been decided by the Minister to form District level committee consist of all relevant departments including social welfare population welfare and women development departments, education department, health department and district session judges to monitor and implement Child Marriage Restraint Act Sindh.
Moreover she also formulate provincial working group of Child Marriages Restraint Act, which comprise of civil Society Organization members and relevant government officials to help the government in enforcement of law in the province.
